"I don't know how to keep it a secret"
Hadassa Ben Ari Shares Good News
"I'm much more humor than grief": Hadassa Ben Ari revives a shelved book project. The Israeli creator shares the surprising coincidence that inspired her return to writing.

Renowned Israeli writer and creator Hadassa Ben Ari has delighted her followers with an exciting personal announcement, revealing that she has returned to a book project she began five years ago. In a heartfelt social media post, Ben Ari expressed her enthusiasm, admitting, "I have this problem that I always had at the beginning of pregnancies: I don't know how to keep it a secret."
The author, known for her blend of humor and profound insights, explained that she started the book, a work filled with humor yet deeply serious, in 2021. However, she paused the project early on, reasoning, "Why would I write a book that people read in the bathroom? I'd rather wipe my kids' noses. That's more important. My creation will wait for the right time."
In her recent update, Ben Ari shared that over the past week, she felt a strong pull to revisit the manuscript and reconnect with her creative side unrelated to themes of loss. "I'm much more humor than grief," she wrote. "Without rolling with laughter, we'll all go crazy." To her surprise, upon reviewing the old text and the book's back-cover description, she discovered the final line: "The heroes of the book discover what things are worth living for."
Ben Ari smiled broadly at the coincidence, noting, "I completely forgot about this sentence written five years ago! And it's exactly the sentence I end my lectures with today." She concluded her post with determination: "Now that I've put it out here, there's no turning back. I'm continuing the journey in pursuit of 'the fat one' and hope that in the not-too-distant future, we can all embrace it."
