The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced it will replace the star dedicated to Dolly Parton on the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles after vandals defaced it approximately one week following the country music queen's death at age 80.
Images and videos circulated on social media in recent days showed Parton's star marred by black scratch marks and scuff marks that visibly obscured her name, damage that was clearly intentional. Authorities have not released information about who was responsible for the vandalism or what motivated the act.
