Argentinian President Javier Milei arrived in Israel on Sunday and is set to hold meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior officials in Jerusalem, as part of a visit focused on diplomatic and economic cooperation.
Milei is expected to begin his visit at the Western Wall before heading to the Prime Minister’s Office for talks with Netanyahu. The two leaders are scheduled to meet privately, followed by a signing ceremony for a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding.
A key announcement during the visit is expected to be the launch of a new direct El Al flight route between Israel and Argentina, aimed at strengthening tourism, business ties, and bilateral relations.
Argentina’s foreign minister, who is accompanying Milei, is also expected to meet Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar for separate discussions centered on counterterrorism cooperation and technological collaboration.
Officials said the visit will also include discussions on potential cooperation in artificial intelligence policy and innovation.
There are also indications that Milei may reference a proposed “Isaac Agreements” framework, described as a South American initiative inspired by the Abraham Accords, though details remain limited.
Milei is scheduled to meet President Isaac Herzog and attend events connected to Israel’s Independence Day, including the torch-lighting ceremony on Mount Herzl. His visit is expected to conclude Tuesday.
